Workshop for doctoral students and staff at JIBS

author March 27th, 2008 by Daniel Gunnarsson

For two half-day sessions there has been a workshop for doctoral students and staff at JIBS. Together we have solved some of the mysteries of scholarly publishing, search strategies, database searching, evaluation of different types of literature and reference management with EndNote. For us involved from the library it has been very interesting and stimulating.

For you who missed it we are planning to offer this workshop at least on an annual basis so keep your eyes open for the next occasion!

And for you from JIBS who participated, a big thank you! The discussions with you have given us a lot of input for developing our library service in alignment with your needs and requirements.

Thanks!

As of July 1, 2008, all Blackwell journal content and all Wiley online content will be hosted on Wiley InterScience. All Blackwell online journal subscriptions will be migrated to enable continuous access to our licensed content, and existing Synergy URLs will redirect to the content on Wiley InterScience. The purpose of the library blog.

author March 18th, 2008 by Inger Melin

Information technology has radically changed the library world. Nowadays, information is not only supplied by books and journals on the shelves of the local library but, increasingly, by the local organization of global information resources, such as e-journals, e-books and databases. In addition to the traditional library, with its printed collections, there is a digital library with a great variety of web based services.

The possibilities to develop library services and offer new ones to researchers and students are greater than ever before, at the same time as the need for more effective information supply is much more demanding. Also, increased competition for users attention demands a valuable and interesting variety of services and an effective marketing.

Our web site is crucial to the marketing of the library’s information services. Now, to this web site, we would like to add a blog that we regard as a tool for the mediation of information about resources and search services.

We hope that you will find great value in reading the library blog.
